Carlton Eaton

Consider the career of Carlton Eaton who expired at age 27 in 1964 when he got, literally two in the hat.

Hitman Joe Barboza’s account of Eaton’s demise.

Here is the death coupe being towed away. Check out the fins on that baby! These guys always loved Cadillacs, and not just ’Cadillac Frank’ Salemme. Twenty-five years later, Ed Goss, an old underworld pal of Stevie Flemmi’s, was working as a cashier at a public garage owned by the Massachusetts Convention Center Authority, which was controlled by Whitey’s brother Billy Bulger.
Revenues began plummeting at the garage, and suspicion fell on Flemmi’s friend, because he’d just purcheased a new Cadillac Brougham. Then his brother, who also worked at the garage as a cashier, bought himself a new Caddy. They were soon under arrest.

`

Carlton Eaton was a former Revere Beach bouncer who decided to branch out by selling football cards. Business was good – he bought a Cadillac, and was wearing some boss threads, a light gray sweater and tan slacks.

Eaton was making his money the old-fashioned way. He was stealing it. Joe Barboza got the contract from the Mafia. It was September 1964.
