George (Ox) Joynt
| DOB 1930, the first member of the Winter Hill Gang murdered after the outbreak of hostilities with the McLaughlins. An ex-con from 11 Foster Street, Somerville, Ox disappeared a few months after Bernie McLaughlin's murder in October 1961. On July 7, 1962, his body was found in the traditional "shallow grave" near Wellington Circle in Medford. With any luck for the killers, within a few weeks he would have been part of the new shopping center. |
