This is George Killeen, the first of three South Boston brothers to die violently. George was murdered in the North End in 1950 by parties who turned out to be unknown. Two of his other brothers, Edward and Donnie, continued working in the rackets, and eventually emerged as powers in the fractured South Boston underworld. Edward was found shot to death in 1968, an apparent suicide, and Donnie was murdered by Whitey in Framingham in 1972.
