James Flynn

Meet Jimmy Flynn, d.o.b. 2/5/34. Flynn is now in a photo finish with a federal grand jury investigating Teamster Local 25 shakedowns of Hollywood film crews. Flynn would be indicted, tried...and acquitted..on charges of murdering Halloran.
Read Kevin Weeks testimony about why Flynn was falsely charged, because of Whitey's clever disguise, and how an FBI agent had a few beers and drunkenly tipped off Whitey not to return to the "hit car".

In 1981-82, he had a beef with Brian Halloran, whom Whitey was lining up for a kill. In May 1982, Whitey got word that Halloran was drinking in a barroom on Northern Avenue in Southie. In addition to a carbine, Whitey , also located a brown Afro wig, which he was wearing when he yelled at Halloran just before he opened fire, fatally wounding him and a construction worker named Michael Donahue who had unfortunately offered Halloran a ride home. With the wig, Whitey looked eerily like Jimmy Flynn, and minutes later, when the cops arrived, they asked the dying Halloran who had shot him.
“Jimmy Flynn,” he said with his dying breath.
Read Kevin Weeks’ recollection at crooked FBI agent Zip Connolly’s 2002 trial of how amused Whitey was by this amazing bit of good fortune.

1983 Wanted Poster
Flynn under arrest, 1983, after being framed for the murder of Brian Halloran by Whitey Bulger.

Supposedly he was in the men's room of a Chinese restaurant in Billerica when armed plainclothesmen burst in.  When they identified themselves as cops Flynn reportedly said, "Thank God your're cops.  I thought you were going to kill me"

Weeks Testimony on Flynn

(Connolly Trial)

Jimmy Flynn, future boss of the Teamsters Local 25 Film Crew, was tried and acquitted of the murders. Whitey is still blaming the mob..
