Meet John P. “Jack” Bulger, DOB 4-17-38, the runt of the litter, the only one of the three Bulger brothers to do prison time since 1965. Inmate 23986-038 served a mere four months in federal custody after getting a slap on the wrist from U.S. District Court Judge George O’Toole, a longtime Bulger rumpswab who refused to recuse himself from the case, even though he was a campaign contributor to the state rep who is married to Billy’s secretary. Jack was released from Devens Federa, l Medical Center on , April 1, 2004.
He was the clerk of the Boston Juvenile Court, after Billy disposed of the previous clerk –, by ordering the governor to make him a judge. Jack was eminently , qualified for the job – he used to work at a fish shop in Roslindale, Square, and then got a hack job at the MBTA. He continues to appeal his conviction on charges of l, ying to a grand jury, not because anyone believes he didn’, t, but because overturning the conviction is the only way he can agai, n start collecting his “kiss in the mail” – his revoked pension of $3,700 a month
