This is Bob Sheehan. After retiring from the FBI, he got job after job in Massachusetts state government while Whitey’s brother Billy was president of the state Senate. His final position was at the Massachusetts Convention Center Authority, (MCCA), a totally Bulger-controlled agency.

Sheehan died in 1989, and a few years later, veteran Boston gangster Hugh “Sonny” Shields told federal investigators that a “tall” FBI agent whose name he could not recall had once offered him the keys to the Angiulos’ headquarters on Prince Street and a machine gun and asked him to wipe out the brothers.

Sheehan was 6-8, and had driven Shields on at least a few occasions, but nothing every came of Shields’ accusations.
