Wilfred
Delaney
Age 27 at
the time of his death, he was from South Boston, a rapist and armed
robber who had lately been partnered by Harold Hannon, a McLaughlin hood
who had killed boxer Tommy Sullivan in 1957. Winter Hill and the Mafia
were looking for Hannon, and it was Wilfred’s bad luck to be with him
when they grabbed him. Hannon was beaten and garroted, but Delaney was
given sleeping pills and booze, and was strangled after he passed out.
Both bodies were found in the harbor, August 1964.
